Tripawd Golden Retriever Puppy Looking for Forever Home! | Vancouver, BC

*UPDATE: Thank you everyone so much for all the support, kind words, and interest in our little Ms Fuchsia. We have found her an excellent home and are sp excited for her to join her forever family in a few weeks!

Hello all! Super happy we found this wonderful community!

Our wonderful Golden Retriever, Mama Roxy, had a litter of 10 puppies on June 25th, 2021, here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Unfortunately, one puppy, a female, was born with a deformed/not fully developed front paw. This is the first time in our 7 litters that this has happened. She is currently 21 days old.

We have been chatting back and forth with our vet a bunch. So far, it seems like her underdeveloped front paw is just an isolated birth defect. She has been checked for other defects, such as a cleft palate, but doesn’t have any. She is also growing like a weed and feeding super super well. She is actually the biggest and strongest girl! She is very loving and feisty! At 7 weeks when the puppies go for their vaccines and check up, she will be thoroughly checked. But it is looking like she will be a healthy dog and will just be tripawd  Additionally, since she was born this way, she has no trauma, and knows nothing different. So we believe she will still be a loving and loyal Golden!

We have decided that we are going to look for a loving family to adopt her, love her, and give her the life she deserves. Unfortunately, our family already has 3 dogs, so we wouldn’t be able to give her the life and love she deserves. Obviously, we are not charging anything for her, we hope that a family can put that money towards any special care she might need. We just want her to have an amazing life and family. She will be ready to go to her forever home August 19th, 2021. Obviously, if we find a family for her, they will be kept in the loop about her development and health all through the process these next few weeks.

If you think your family (or a family) would be interested in her, please let us know and email / reach out with any questions. We are happy to video chat, send pictures & videos of her being an active puppy with the others, and more!

  4. I had two Golden Ret sisters that were both born with one of the front legs missing, they were rescued from a guy who had the mom and she was I think 10 or so and didnt know she was pregnant by his male, anyways these beautiful girls were born and he reached out for help with the rescue that I was a volunteer for- I became foster mom then foster fail mom…… my one gal Callee did just fine she had more of a I called it a angel wing so it was tucked back along her side never gave her any issues.. she ran she played she learned stairs, she loved the water I just had to help her when in my pool.. Her sister Kelsey she had I beleive it was about a 6 inch limb and what she was trying to do was use it so she was slouching when she would walk hunched over some what so when I had her spayed we decided to remove that piece to help her out, she had to learn to adapt a little bit, but I also had a front wheel cart made for her to use, she was a happy I would say Normal dog. they both lived til they were 12 and 13, best girls ever. Remember there are so many options with carts and prosthetics that can help now days to if need be.

  5. Hello! I wrote you an email! I own a little 1 year old chocolate lab with a very similar deformity so I do have the experience to give her a great life!

  6. Omg. If we didn’t just adopt a tripod golden puppy 4 months ago I would jump at this! We got him for free due to medical bills and sadly they did get spendy. She’s so cute and I hope she finds her forever home soon and is spoiled 💗

  7. What a very lucky girl! Thank you for going the extra mile to find the right parents. We hope we get to meet them and stay involved in her life! YAY!
